Charleston, South Carolina, 1859.
A new century is nearly upon us, and it seems it's going to be an unsettled one. There's been great tension between many of the states around here, and an election is forthcoming. They say that if Mr. Lincoln is elected, we'll pull out of the union-- but that's ridiculous. Our Constitution gives us our rights, doesn't it? It looks like things around here are getting worse by the day. God help us, there's a war on the horizon.
